Our Vision

Retica Systems, Inc. is a privately held, venture backed company based in Waltham, Massachusetts founded in 2004. Our key strength is our expert ability to develop and integrate both hardware and software to produce top-tier iris biometric software and biometric imaging systems. Our vision is to develop identity dominance and control solutions using novel multi-modal biometric acquisition technologies. To fulfill this vision, Retica is engaged in the design, development, productization and deployment of security and identity management systems.

Our Foundation

Since its founding, Retica has built a formidable biometric research team of experts within the fields of image analysis and optical systems, including eight PhDs with an average 20 years experience. Our team has worked hand-in-hand to develop innovative iris and multi-modal biometric technologies.  Retica has become a top tier biometric software and device solution supplier. Our success is a direct result of our integrated approach to research and development. Close collaboration between the software and hardware groups has led to insight and experimentation that would otherwise not have been possible.

Our Technology

Retica has developed a range of acquisition devices including Mobile Eyes™, the world’s first dual-iris portable hand-held capture device and Eagle Eyes™, the world’s first 3 to 6 meter face and dual iris capture device for less constrained biometric acquisition. In addition, our software team has systematically designed and implemented a sophisticated suite of proprietary iris algorithms. This suite includes a set of iris acquisition tools that facilitate a range of iris capture devices as well as a set of core iris algorithms for encoding and matching. These solutions are now available in Retica’s range of software products: Mobile-Eyes™ SDK, Eagle-Eyes™ SDK and Rapid-Match™, offer simple but extremely powerful APIs that enable users to embrace the power of our iris algorithms through rapid integration with client applications.

Industries

From Homeland Security to data networks, our products may be utilized in a range of applications, including, but not limited to:
